I have always loved technology and using as much technology in a "meaningful" way in my classroom. Over the past couple of years or so I have realized that my students have become far more technologically savvy. Students are connected through the web, ipods and mostly through their cell phones. I want to be able to take these technologies that my students already use daily for entertainment and utilize them for educational purposes. For this reason I currently attending a conference for teachers who are in the same boat as I am. We want to learn about these new technologies and applications such as blogging, podcasting etc. so that we can implement them into our instruction.

Right now I am writing a blog for the first time even though I have been subscribed for almost a year. It is time that I overcome my fear and take the initiative and utilize these new things to engage my students in learning science. I am constantly trying to learn new ways to connect my students to the world outside the classroom. Blogging may be a way to do this...
